August

 A New school year at Nana's little learners!

August is a short school month as we start at the end of the month.  We talked about Apples. Reading Johnny Appleseed, and 10 apples up on top. 

We started learning about Rhymes. Understanding Rhymes is the first step in Understanding and learning how to read. Rhymes are fun. We have also started to learn "all about me".  Or all about the child. We are using apples to count, apples for colors.  Apples are tasty, the apples smell great, apples sound crunchy, the have a smooth outside texture, they come is several colors and sizes. Several varieties. Apples are a wonderful thing to begin our lessons with. 

Some of our projects have been counting apples up on top. Finger paint and palm paint apples keep sake. Cat family rhyme. 

Preschool/playschool is a great experience in life. Nana loves her kids.

Parent letter 8/23

  8-23-23 This week we learned about apples. There are lots of colors of apples green, yellow, red and pink but sadly no blue. And black and brown apples will be yucky. We started rhyming words with -at words.  bat, cat, fat, hat, mat, pat, sat, vat, and flat, splat, chat and that. Practice rhyming all kinds of words even making up words. Like zat, dat, gat etc. We will work on letters after we understand rhyming.  We read Johnny Appleseed, and 10 apples up on top.  We talked more about "all  about me".  Did a fingerprint apple counting and made apples with our hands.  We also started working on our name song learning how to spell our names. Songs are a terrific way to teach children even adults anything.
